Frozen Shoulder

(Adhesive Capsulitis)

  • Presents with significant shoulder pain and loss of motion

  • Difficulty reaching overhead or behind back

  • Usually more painful at night

  • Usually Occurs between the ages of 40 and 65 years old

  • More common in women vs men

  • It can last months to multiple years

  • It is usually self limiting (will eventually improve), but Physical Therapy has been shown to improve mobility, decrease pain, and improve function
