  • Typically from overuse / over activity

  • Typical activities associated: ballet, cycling, rowing, running, track and field, soccer and gymnastics 

    • “Dancer or jumper’s hip” 

  • Adolescents during growth spurs have decreased flexibility of the hip flexors → higher risk 

  • More prevalent in females
