  • Most common in ages 40-70

  • 10% of people will get it over a lifetime

  • Pain along the plantar fascia which goes from the heel (calcaneus) to the base of the toes (usually most common at base of the heel)

  • Usually most painful when first getting out of bed or after sitting for a long time

  • Often a slow onset of pain from loads the body isn’t used to (such as starting a new activity or increasing running distances)
