Shoulder Instability
Shoulder Instability occurs when the lining of the shoulder joint, ligaments or labrum become stretched, torn or detached allowing the humeral head (ball of the shoulder joint) move out of the socket.
Typically affects the younger population under 20
Males > Females
Can occur from an injury to the shoulder joint such as subluxation or dislocation or can be due to underlying joint hyper mobility
Signs/Symptoms:
Feeling like the shoulder is going to “slip out” of the joint
Clicking
Pain with overhead activities or after activity/feeling fatigued
