Tennis Elbow
Irritation of the tendon of the muscle, extensor carpi radialis brevis, that attaches to the outside of the elbow
May be due to overuse of the finger and wrist extensors with grip intensive activities such as gardening, typing, cooking and tennis
Occurs during tennis when you follow through with the racquet, controlling the wrist and slowing it down
Signs/symptoms:
Pain along the outside of the elbow that increases with finger and wrist extension (bending wrist toward arm)
Dull/achy, may be sharp
Weakness in hand and forearm
Typing on a keyboard or opening, closing or squeezing hands
